  • A Day Out in Birkenstock

Hi guys! It's me again, back with another tale of adventure and intrigue from the world of quality footwear. What do I have for you this time? A tale of hardship and struggle, all within the confines of the workplace, and a pair of Birkenstock Sandals.

I was at the office of all places, plodding on with my everyday routine. Now as usual, my feet were killing me. All the racing around on errands, making sure things get done, can take a toll on you physically as well as mentally. When I finally had the chance to sit down, which was after about four hours of solid standing, I felt like I'd been walking on hot coals all morning. My feet may as well have been smoking, they felt like they were burning they hurt so much.

So, I finally decided that enough was enough. I needed a pair of sandals for work. A pair that weren't going to make me regret having the energy to keep walking for four hours flat. So I spoke to a friend who was in the know on such matters, and my friend recommended Birkenstock Sandals. I hadn't heard an awful lot about them, but I'm open to new ideas, so I told my friend I'd give them a try. I went to the high street after work, and bought myself a pair of Birkenstock's.

I turned up to work the next day and I could not wait to get cracking. I got on with my normal routine again, running around like a headless chicken, and my feet felt great! My new Birkenstock's were already molding to my feet. The contoured foot bed was working wonders, moving with me with every step I took and beginning to embed the little intricacies of my feet into the cork and rubber. I sat down after another four hours, and aside from being knackered and needing a cup of tea, I felt fine. My feet weren't so much complaining as they were purring.

My Birkenstocks even look the part. They're not over the top and and the same time they're quite elegant and presentable, and most certainly suitable for the workplace. As I found out, they are exceedingly comfortable, and to top it off, they don't cost you an arm or a leg. Although I will say this. If you don't own a pair of Birki's and you have a very hectic job that requires a lot of standing up or walking around, then it may very well cost you a foot.

Thats all for know guys! Seriously, look into Birkenstock's. Let me know how they go!

  • New Blog!

I have to write a first blog post, right? So I thought to myself, what better way to start off this blog, by going for a walk in a pair of "Fit Flops", some of my favourite sandals at the mo, and telling you all about it!

I started out my day by planning to take a long walk in a pair of sandals. For the day I was working, and we were in training at some outback mountain range in the middle of nowhere. It was fairly cool outside, but certainly not thermals weather.

So, after my day at work, which involved a less than comfortable pair of high heels, I slipped on my Fit Flops and cantered on over to the nearest walking path.

Now what I love about my Fit Flops is the way I can go at my own pace while I'm wearing them, and whatever pace I'm trundling along at, I still feel like my legs and my bum are being given a good workout.

I'm a real fitness fanatic at heart. I've got to have all the latest info on what to eat and how to stay in shape. I'm also mad about my footwear. Fit Flops fit the bill perfectly. The midsoles on them are multi-density, meaning that they are of a different thickness at different areas of the midsole. This is really special, because with it the Fit Flops can contour evenly and flexibly to my feet, helping them to move the way they are meant to, and when feet move they way they should, the rest of the body follows.

Even when I want to pick up the pace a little and turn my leisurely stroll into a power walk, Fit Flops keep up with me. Thanks to that special midsole, it feels like I'm walking barefoot, rather than in a pair of sandals.

Although I did find the time to go for my long, wandering walk, when I got back home after my long day in the outback, I kept my FitFlops on and did a little spring cleaning around the house. The workout kept going. Even if you're standing still, or walking a few paces in one direction, these shoes make sure that you are standing and walking steadily, and with correct posture. For anyone with posture issues, I could not recommend a pair of these enough!

Okay, that's me done for the day. I'll be sure to post again the next time a fantastic pair of shoes or sandals grab my attention! Until then!
